Pete the Cat headband and book

Do we love Pete?

Goodness yes!!

We could not resist starting off our school year with Pete.

He is pretty much the coolest cat in school.

And we are learning from his groovy attitude.

Each child started with a nosed headband. The nose helps the kids find the centre of the headband - and helps with eye placement.

Each child glued on 2 Pete eyes

2 Pete ears

and added some fine Pete whiskers.

After having their official Pete portraits taken, we made a new Pete book to add to our classroom library.

We talked about "he" and "she", rhyming words, and printing the letters in our names correctly.

I use a gender neutral version of the book.

The Pete shoes graphic is from Libraryland.
Lisa, says, "Feel free to steal".
I say. "Thank you very much".

I'd like to leave you will a Pete the Cat - Rocking in My School Shoes  trailer.  It was put together by Elizabeth Barnett, who is studying Elementary Education at the University of Southern Alabama.  Enjoy!
